newdle

A small daily word game inspired by the excellent Q-Less. Take the day's letters and form them into a crossword.

The main new feature compared to Q-Less is the addition of various subgoals to aim for. Different tasks award different emoji. Will you go for long words, or a compact grid? Or will you try to earn both each day?

Discovering the way to earn each emoji is part of the fun I think, but here are most of the emoji you can earn: 🥇 🥈 🐛 🍆 👯 🙂 😁 🤩 😵‍💫 😵 🍩 📚

On Sundays 🌞 more letters are used. This does make some of the emojis impossible to get on Sunday.

We've also used advanced digital technology to include the letter Q, which always comes with an extra U.

The name came about because I told my wife "hey I made a new -dle game" and she said "what's newdle?"

AI disclosure: this game was developed using generative AI to assist in writing the code, as my test run of the technology. I've mostly concluded that AI creates more work cleaning up its mess than it helps... but yep, it was used here.
